Comments on location: I am an Earth Science teacher on an |Arctic research expedition (NSF funded Lake El'gygytgyn Drilling Project) in the Siberian Arctic. www.polartrec.com I could not see Orion, but using other star charts I could identify a magnitude 4 star tonight while in the town of Pevek, Russia. Although it is mostly a dark location, the few lights around town are not shielded and many directed sideways.
